Run Run Run, As Fast As You Can...

Christmas is just 1 week away and I am happy to report that Spencer and I have all of our gifts purchased thanks to Black Friday Shopping.  All that is left to is wrap them all, which is a task considering im the worst at wrapping presents.  O well.

The last few weeks We have been trying to get into the spirit of Christmas. The first weekend in December we traveled to Irvine for Baby Wesley's blessing and their family was involved in a live nativity.

They also had tons of nativity scenes set up.

We have also been doing things with our friends. Last week our friends invited us over for a "Thanksgiving" meal. Although the food was Thanksgiving, the attire was Christmas sweaters.

Later that night we went to the Clovis Christmas Tree Lane and look at the lights! It was so fun and a great way to get into the spirit of the holiday.

Yesterday we had some people over and made gingerbread men+ houses.
Relitz Mannor. Tatum Towers. Baroni Cottage

The actual gingerbread dough smelled so gross because there is molasis in it, but once we cooked them they turned out all right.

The houses toured out better then i could have hoped for.

David Copperfield

In Vegas Spencer and I got tickets to go see David Copperfield. We had seats that were in the middle of the theater and pretty close in the center. I don't have any pictures because you weren't allowed to take any bu I do have an amazing story.

Before the show started Spencer was looking stuff up on his cell phone and this lady who worked at the theater walked up to us and I though we were going to get yelled at for having our phone out. She then said, " Hey would you guys like to be part of the show? All you have to do is while this intro movie is playing I will escort you by the door and then after his first trick I will walk you down FRONT and CENTER seats and he will make a joke about you being late to show."

So of course we said YES!

After his magical appearance on a motorcycle the spotlight was on us and she walked us to our NEW seats that were the best seats in the house. It was amazing. I was a little embarrassed but it was totally worth it! They were great seats although I still dont know he did what he did! AMAZING!
BUT there's more.....

Not only were kind of in the show in the beginning, but while Copperfield was walking through the audience he grabbed my hand and another girl and took us on stage to do a magic trick!!!!!! ( and NO pictures were allowed remember so you have to take my work for it)

He had me and this girl put on a pair of rubber black gloves and then hold this clear plastic TV tray between us. I had trouble putting on my glove + stage fright so he made some jokes about it. ( according to Spencer I was very comical...) Then he brought out a scorpion in a small opened box. ( I am freaking out by this point trying to keep my cool). Then he tells me to take of my glove...so i DO, then he grabs my hand and starts to put it in the box like im going to grab it....then i pull my hand away because..well let me see..a scorpion!!!! Then he says Just kidding and gives me a deck of cards to examine instead. I shuffle them then I pick a card. Teh i place it inside then I shuffle it again. I give him back the deck and he fans it into a circle, then put a large clamp on the cards, picks up the scorpion and it grabs my card.....

Amazing!! and so cool because I was in the show!

He so many super amazing tricks. If you ever get the chance GO see the show.

So this picture is no joke i saw him to this trick right in front me! no mirrors. WOW

New Baby

Yes yes, my Sister-in-Law had a baby last week, but this post is not about that. Last wednesday Spencer and I bought a car ( our new baby).

It is a light blue/ silver car just like the picture. It is a 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid! We bought it at our Honda  dealership and it was a certified used car. I am so excited to have such a nice car! I love it.

the interior of our car is a more tan color but this is what the inside looks like. It is really roomy for a civic. It has power windows and locks which is exciting because our other civic does NOT! We also get cruise control! yaaaa. This is something I've been wanting!

Spencer and I are very happy with the new addition to our family especially since it is a Hybrid we will be saving even more on gas! YA

Super Sunday

Sunday was such a busy day for me. I spoke in sacrament meeting, I taught nursery, and then I did my visiting teaching after church. I was pretty nervous for my talk but I think it went well. Right when sacrament meeting was starting the Stake President walks up on the stand and sits next to me. Ha, no pressure right! Everyone laughed when I told them how Spencer was my home teacher and that's how we met. My talked was based off Elder Bruce A Carlson's talk in the April 2010 conference about the reason people disobey the commandments.

I then went to the cave also known as nursery where we had 11 kids. (Way better then 2 weeks ago when there were 18 kids!!). I went over the song "I Am a Child of God," and the Plan of salvation. I don't know if they got anything out of it but I tried. We played with cars, legos, balloons, and colored for 2 hours and then church was over.

Once I got home I went with my visiting teaching companion to visit 2 of our sisters and had a wonderful visit. We just got to know them better and shared the message for the month of September.

Once it was all done I was exhausted! Church starts at 9 and I was all done by 3! But I do feel good about all of it! I've spoken in sacrament meeting now so hopefully ill be able to get by a while without doing it again! :)

It Hurts

On Friday Morning I hurt my neck while I was getting ready for work. I had a small pain and then I rolled my neck trying to stretch the muscle and I made it even worse. I now have a stiff neck. I had to leave work early and stay home from my night job. I got almost no sleep last night and almost doing anything, including sitting and watching tv hurts!  I wasn't able to go to the vineyard this morning because of excruciating pain and I called in sick again at work. I hate not being able to do anything. It hurts a lot and it makes my day boring. My husband will be working tonight and ill just be home. I'm hoping that on Sunday it will start to feel better because I really do NOT want to miss any more work. I want my body back. :(

Busy Again

Work has started again and it already feels like summer vacation has long past. I am happy to be working with the kids again, but not so much the long days and then coming home to go straight to work again. Since Spencer and I moved over the summer it now takes me about 30 min to get to the elementary school which just means more time out of my day and more gas! The class is great, although getting started was rough.

With school back in session and me still working at night I dont get to see my wonderful husband so much anymore which makes me sad. Although when we do get our change to talk on the phone or the chance to go out it makes it more special.

Over the weekend Spencer and I went to a movie and then the next night we went to Boomers which was a lot of fun. I still can't believe we got to night together, and on the weekend!!! Crazy.

MMMM!

( this is a NEW kind of bruchetta we tried and it was so yummy, the one listed below is our basic recipe)

I am completely obsessed with bruchetta! Spencer and I buy basil, tomatoes, and a French baguette every week. I don't where this sudden obsession came from but it is so delicious and easy!!!! just slice the bread and rub it with a garlic clove for flavor, Then brush the bread with olive oil. stick it in the oven for about3-5 min on broil ( it will be quick so keep an eye on it). Then slice Roma tomatoes and use fresh basil( amazing) and drizzle with evoo and salt. then your ready to eat! yummy. We really do make this every week. It taste so fresh and yummy, not to mention very good or you.

enjoy! I know I do.

p.s we have been just buying a fresh bunch of basil every week for $1 at the local farmers market.

CaMpInG

Yes we did, we went CAMPING. It was fun and a new kind of adventure Spencer and I have never been on together. We went to Los Osos which is near SLO and Pismo.

Now I'm not sure WHERE this CRAZY idea about camping came from, but it was my thought that going to the beach would be fun, and camping there would be cheaper then staying in a hotel ( all true so far). It was just way different then the camping I remember. I have only camped in the mountains where there are lots of trees...let me tell you...barely any TREES.

We pitched our tent and headed back to Pismo beach to relax and enjoy the view! We had clam chowder at Splash Cafe
(delicious) and then walked along the pier.

We decided to eat a huge dinner at Tahoe Joe's before camping. Yummy. We went back to camp and were TOO full to eat smores.

I made a fire that lasted a whole 2 min. and we went inside for the night.

We played Statego and then went to BED, but with no pillows because we left them at home...figures.

I got like no SLEEP because Spencer was snoring all night ( poor baby, he was sick with a cold).

In  the morning, I was cranky, but ended up sleeping from 7-10! much needed rest.

We headed into Pismo for some yummy Cinnamon rolls and then went geo caching. { If you'r not familiar with geo caching it is like treasure hunting. You go online and they give you map coordinates and you find stuff all over the world. It's pretty cool}

The cach was hidden inside this post!

We found a candy shop called Hot Licks where they sell chocolate covered bugs like worms, crickets, and small scorpions! eww.

The apple on the left if covered in wormes!!!

The trip was fun and much needed, but I think i'm more of a hotel kind of girl.. sorry Dad.

Obsessed!

I am totally obsessed with the original CSI show. Spencer and I have been watching then on DVD and today we blew through 3 episodes because I just had to see more. The thing about CSI is you have never seen it is that is really graphic and very gross! The show is mostly about murders or suicides and they like to show how someone was killed. They slice into skulls, show decaying bodies, ect. Of course all of this stuff is fake but  very bloody and gross. But, I am hooked! I love the characters and the mystery of each case. It is never the person you think it will be. Some of the episodes are scary too. One i watched today was about a murder in a psych ward. We have just finished season 5 and will prob start 6 tonight or tomorrow! I can;t wait. I love CSI. If blood and graphic scenes do NOT bother you, then watch CSI it is soo good. Although I think since I have been watching it so much I am becoming numb...maybe not a good thing, but I love CSI!
