Feeling the heat

Sunday's are 'o so fun and relaxing in the Relitz apt.

umm nope to the second part, but yes to the first!

I don't know why but Sunday's seem to be very busy days.  Church at 9 in the morning and I have to teach sharing time in primary. We come home and have to pick up a few things before our company comes over because we invited someone over. Then stress starts to mount as we cook dinner our smallest kitchen ever and boy o boy it gets hot in the kitchen, and I'm not just talking about the oven. We rush to get everything finished on time and plan to have a great time. When all is said and done we are asking ourselves why do we always invite peopel over when it is so much work? Well we just like having people over. It is always a lot of fun. Stressful but fun.

Spencer and I will be making dinner and dessert next weekend when we got down to LA to see our new nephew Beckett! We are very excited.

Mr. Vanilla Bean

Spencer and I bought so real vanilla beans from costco a few days ago and thought it would go great in our ice cream maker. We had already tried making basic vanilla so we thought we would try the recipie all the way in the back, " decadant chocolate!" The recispie called for vanilla bean, and it had a lot more steps then just poor ingrediants into ice cream maker.

1. heat ingrediants for 30 min
2. cool ingrediants in fridge
3. PLace in ice cream maker for 30 min

Once all was said and done, we were tired, and excited to try the ice cream.
It was way way too chocolaty and sweet! It didn't really seem like ice cream either. More like a chocolate sauce!
:( bummer maybe we shoul have stuck with vanilla.

In The Kitchen

Spencer and I have been in the kitchen  a lot over this Easter/ Conference weekend. I'm learning things I never know about my husband and I am pretty sure he didnt know them about himself either. If you have seen the movie Julie and Julia, it is about the cook Julia Child and a woman named Julie who takes cooking on as a challenge. Spencer see's cooking in the same light and is just coming to love it more and more every time we are in the kitchen. Over the spring break we stopped in Gilroy and he was the most excited to walk in the kitchen outlet stores. I think it is such a wonderful surprise!

So, durring the late night he wipped up creme brulet ( sorry I dont know how to type french),
*sorry the camera died and there is no picture
a home made white cake, cocolate frosting, fondant,
oh and these amazing chibotta bread sandwiches.

Happy Easter!
